Description

After replacing the railroad tie, our hydraulic tamper secures it in place. This operation involves vibrating the ballast at 70-110 HZ, embedding it under the tie at a depth of 21 inches with a down force of 300 lbs. and a squeeze force of 1000 lbs. for each of the four ballast tools. The tamper is equipped with a built-in rotator to align it over each rail, constructed with high-strength steel to minimize weight and maintain backhoe stability when positioning the tamper with the Backhoe boom.At the heart of the Mitchell Backhoe Tie Switcher System lies an intuitive Hi-Rail system equipped with a built-in suspension, seamlessly self-compensating for uneven tracks. Operators, regardless of their experience level, can effortlessly transition on and off the track by simply raising or lowering the hi-rail wheels. Unlike portable hi-rail systems or front bucket rail wheels, which can be slow and cumbersome when attaching or detaching the hi-rail mechanism for track disengagement, our system ensures safe and efficient track access.
