During ovulation, Novarel stimulates the release of the egg by promoting normal egg development in the ovary. Women use a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) to induce ovulation and treat infertility. However, men use it to enhance sperm counts.

It helps an egg develop naturally in a woman's ovaries and guides the eggs' release during ovulation. HCG is also used in young boys whose testicles have not yet dropped naturally into the scrotum.
